Home Port

Donjeux’s home base is the Aquarelle Marina in the beautiful city of Auxerre in Burgundy. The city has many interesting sites including a cathedral and an abbey, as well as a variety of shops, markets and restaurants. Auxerre is reached easily by car via the A6 or by train from Paris Bercy.

There are numerous cruising options from Auxerre — either northwards down the River Yonne, or southwards up the Canal du Nivernais.  

Yonne

With its wide river bends and well-maintained locks, cruising on the Yonne is an enjoyable experience.

Nivernais

Cruising the Canal du Nivernais is a lovely way to unwind and take in the French countryside. You’ll pass through quaint villages, historic locks, and peaceful scenery, with the famous Chablis wine region nearby. It’s perfect for stopping to sample local wines, enjoy some cheese, and just soak up the laid-back charm of Burgundy at your own pace.

Canal de Bourgogne

Boating on the Canal de Bourgogne offers a voyage through the heart of Burgundy’s history and charm. This iconic waterway meanders past medieval towns, ancient abbeys, and stunning chateau. The journey is serene and unhurried, with opportunities to explore bustling markets and quaint villages.
